How to reorder the pages of a PDF

A document scanned in a hurry comes out in the wrong order, with two pages upside down because they went into the feeder the other way. This is the tool for putting that right in one pass instead of three.

1. Drop the PDF on the box at the top and wait for the pages to appear.
2. Drag a page where you want it. On a phone, use the arrows on the page instead - a finger drag does not report the same thing as a mouse drag, so the arrows are there for touch.
3. Press the turn button on a sideways page. Press it again for another quarter turn.
4. Press the cross on a page to leave it out.
5. Press Save when the grid looks right.

Turning a sideways scan

A PDF page carries an instruction telling a reader which way up to show it, and turning a page here changes that instruction. The drawing inside is untouched, so nothing is re-made and nothing softens.

It also means the turn is a real property of the document rather than something only this site knows about. Print the file, open it on a phone, email it to somebody with a different reader - the page comes out the way you turned it.

Three jobs in one place

Reordering, turning and removing are the same job in practice. Somebody fixing a scan almost never wants only one of them, and doing them on three different pages means saving a file, dropping it into the next tool and hoping nothing was lost on the way.
