How to combine photos, Word files and PDFs into one PDF
Last updated 26 September 2026
Job portals, visa forms and banks often want a single file. What you have is a mix: a CV in Word, photos of certificates, a PDF from your bank. Here is how to turn everything into PDF, join it in the right order, and keep it under the size limit.
Step 1: turn everything into PDF
- For a Word file, open Word to PDF, drop the .docx, press Make the PDF, check the first page and press Save the PDF.
- For photos of documents, open JPG to PDF, drop the photos, turn any sideways one with its round arrows, choose A4 (so every page prints the same size) and press Make the PDF.
- If the photos are of paper taken with a phone, Scan to PDF is better: it cuts off the table and makes the paper white.
- Other files work too: Excel, PowerPoint, text, and OpenDocument files each have their own tool in All tools.
Step 2: join them in the right order
- Open Merge PDF and drop all the PDFs.
- Drag them into the order asked for - usually the form or letter first, then the documents in the order they are listed.
- Press Merge.
Step 3: fix single pages
If one page is in the wrong place, sideways or not needed, open the merged file in Organize PDF. Drag the page, turn it, or press its cross to leave it out, and press Save.
Step 4: check the size limit
Upload forms often allow only 2 MB or 5 MB. If the file is too big, see Your PDF is too big to email - the same steps work for any size limit.
