How to edit the details of a PDF
Every PDF carries a title, an author and dates that you never see on the page. The author is often the name of whoever owned the computer, and the title can be an old file name. Readers and search engines show the title instead of the file name.
- Drop the PDF on the box at the top.
- Read what is stored.
- Change any field, or press the button to empty them all.
- Tick the box to take out the dates too.
- Press Save the PDF.
Both copies are changed
Many PDFs store these details twice, once in the old way and once as XML. A tool that only changes one leaves the old author in the other. This changes both.
